Destinations : Mcleodganj, Dharamshala

Mcleodganj is tourist place which is in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at high altitude aroung 2100 meters. You will find Tibetan refugees there.

I am very found of traveling. I feel comfortable in making trips. One day i was getting bore during summer days
Then at instant i decided to plan for Mcleodganj. This time i was alone at home. I called up my friends discussed with them about
tour to Mcleodganj. Initially two friends were not ready to go in the month of May but at the end all were ready.
After the long discussion We fixed the date for trip i.e on May 13,2011.We decided to go in Tamera car. We were 6 friends all.
It was two days tour.

I had some information in advance about Dharamshala and Mcleodganj because during college days my friends went there, due to some
reasons i could not go there at that time but i had asked each and everything about the place or the information like
what to visit there and what preparation are to be made while visiting that place.

We had to start from Chandigarh. We all met at Manimazra on May 13 at 9 am. We had to wait for taxi for 15 Minutes there.
We had taken the breakfast at home and packed the lunch. As the taxi reached there everybody was fighting for front seat, it
usually happens when you are going out for trip. Finally decided that every body will get the chance to sit on front seat after every 60 Km.

After one and half hour we reached at Ropar. There are three roads leading to Dharamshala one is from Ropar to Nadaun, second
is via Kirtpur, Una, Hamirpur and third is via Kirtpur, Bilaspur, Ghumarwin and Hamirpur. We chose first one.

After reaching at Nadaun which is at the distance of about 30 km from Hamirpur. We had our lunch there and took tea, after getting relaxed for 30 Minutes, we continued out journey and reached at Jawala Ji Temple.

We bow there and started off to Kangra. Kangra is one of the most pleasant, relaxing and spiritual place in the lower Himalayas. The view of Dhauladhar hills is very wonderful. We stayed there for half an hour. There were so many places to visit in Kangra but this time we were focusing at Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. So we did not go there. The temple of Brajeshwari Devi is very famous in Kangra. It is said that this temple was destroyed completely by earthquake in 1905 but was rebuilt in 1920.
The next place is Dharamshala which is just 35-40 km away from Kangra. We reached at Dharamshala.

When we reached Dharamshala we quickly rushed to the tourist information centre, they guided us about the places that we can visit during our short stay . They told that recently a cricket ground is constructed here which is very similar to the one which was in NewZealand .

When we reached the ground we really find it very different from other cricket grounds that we have visited across different countries , as at the background the hills was totally covered with snow , really awesome one if we could get a chance to play there . Then we move to the market to have some snacks as everyone is feeling a bit hungry . We ate there famous North Indian "Aloo ka Parantha" along with hot tea.

Now everyone is ready to visit to the next destination which is "Mcleodganj" .

We chat there with the local people of that place about the Budh Monestry ,
they told us about the time when they came here . Fortunately we got a chance to meet Tibet Guru Dalai Lama , really a man with broad vision .Some one told us that the next place which one must visit is Triund as we will get a chance to see the snow , but one thing which is difficult to digest is that we cant drive our vehicle beyond Mcleodganj as one tyre got punctured and driver told that he will repair that meanwhile we go the Bhaksu Naag , we all gather courage and started towards Triund, don’t know exactly how long we took to reach there , approximately it takes three and half hour to reach Triund from Mcleodganj .The last spot was Bhaksu Naag , we went to the Tibetan Monastery there , It was really courage to reach there , and luckily we reached there .

On the way back from Triund everyone of us feeling very very good as we came down from the altitude of approx 4000 mtrs . We heard from someone that we can also do paragliding , as time was short so unfortunately we had to say no to that .We reached at the grounds means at Dharamshala at around 6'O Clock , Then we went to the famous Tibetan market , you will find market with most attracting things at very attractive prices, one of my friend purchased a frng chui for his sister . We spent about one and half hour there , It was quite dark in the sky so we decided to came back as we have visited enough places . We board our cab after having our dinner , when i opened my eyes we are in Chandigarh . Everybody take there luggage and went to there home .

It was really one of the awesome experience of my life.
