Destinations : Seattle

Seattle City also known as The Emerald City is situated between Puget and Lake Washington. It is situated in the lap of nature surrounded by Cascade and Olympic mountains.

I chose Seattle for my trip. I went to the Seattle for just five days. I forget to introduce myself I am Manish and lives in Mumbai. I will share with you my, a month back experience to Seattle. I flew to Seattle from from Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport and I spent most of the flights reading. After searching for a while, I managed to find the hotel. After placing my luggage at the hotel I rent a car and went to the Snoqualmie Falls. Snoqualmie Falls plunges 268 feet - over 100 feet farther than the famous Niagara Falls.

Pioneer Square

When i walked back to the hotel, it was still too early and I wanted to explore some more. So I hopped back in the car and drove down to Lake Washington, then to the Space Needle. I had  an interesting talk with the old lady. Then went back to the Hotel. I woke up early to rain next morning and decided to drive to Whidbey Island for the day. It seemed a perfect day to explore an island. I drove north and over to the island. I stopped at Deception Pass to take a picture and clicked pictures from various locations. While coming back from Whidbey I purchased a ring for my mother and following signs by the evening I came back to the Seattle.

Pike Place Market

I had heard the trick to visiting Pike Place Market was to go early. So next day i woke up on time and my first stop was at the original Starbucks. I watched the flower sellers set up their gorgeous wares. I saw the fish fly and I saw Rachel the Pig. I bought a delicious pumpkin cookie at Cinnamon Works, tea at Market Spice and dried apples. After having lunch in the late afternoon I drove to the Woodland Park Zoo and then to the Seattle aquarium, in the North Seattle. When i saw kids laughing and enjoy seeing hippos and giraffes, i recalled memories of my childhood days.

I spent my last day walking through the Queen district and hanging out at the famous Japanese gardens. The garden was very peaceful and it feels to me like i was not in the city. I had a lunch there in a shop but I don’t remember the name but the food is really good. But the character of the place is wonderful, and it's definitely a local hangout. After departing from the park I went back to the hotel and returned the car since confession time had arrived. I hire a cab from the hotel to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and approximately twelve hours I landed at the Mumbai airport. It was one of the very different kind of experience I have ever had in my life.
