Kakdwip is a city of South 24 Parganas district in the Indian State of West Bengal. It is situated on the eastern banks of the Hooghly River quite near where the river meets the Bay of Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Kakdwip subdivision and also the seat for the Sub-Divisional Court
